Event Description

The Caribbean School of Medical Sciences, Jamaica in collaboration with the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, is hosting the Medicine of the Older Person- Challenges in Modern Geriatric Medicine Symposium.

Our population is ageing, and this brings its own challenges. The traditional geriatric giants for older persons are now embracing newer themes, and with this in mind, the symposium has been designed to address this.

The talks will appeal to a wide range of health professionals including doctors in training, SAS doctors, general practitioners, nurses, physician associates, consultants of many specialties and of course geriatricians.

The programme will be packed with lots of interesting topics that will help equip you for the challenges that you face within modern geriatric medicine, including loneliness, malnutrition and multi-complexity. There will be some bread and butter topics but with new twists and turns with audience participation and engagement.

You will also learn about new treatment options for chronic conditions for older people with frailty, including newer pharmacological options. No geriatric symposium is complete without neurological medicine. Delegates will be able to participate in interactive neurological cases which you should not miss!
